The new movie, The Lorax, is being released on Friday, March 2nd. This Friday also happens to be Dr. Suess’ 108th birthday. He’s not actually alive but I would argue that his stories and gift for rhyme live on. I’m certain the movie is going to be wonderful; it looks HILARIOUS! If you haven’t already explored Dr. Suess with your children, there is a lot to enjoy; sophisticated rhythm and rhyme, profound yet accessible concepts and engaging artwork. Theodor Seuss Geisel was not a perfect man, but he left us something inspiring. I am grateful to him for reminding me that being silly is not silly at all. It can be motivating, rejuvenating and essential to a healthy life. It endears us to our children.
“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope.â€
