November’s Tip – Words around us
You are your child’s first teacher and you can help your child grow strong roots for learning both in and out of school.  It’s as easy as looking at familiar letters around town - M for McDonalds, W for Wal-Mart or S for Stop sign.  Or search for the first letter of your child’s name on signs or in flyers.  Make the sound and say the name of the letter when you find it.  Recognizing letters and words will help your child learn to read and write.  You can help your child succeed.
