I SPY Bottle

Looking for a creative, inexpensive Christmas craft for your kids?  Try making an I Spy bottle.  Gather any random toys you have at the bottom of your toy chest, under the seat in your car or behind the fridge.  Take a picture of them and throw them into a bottle or jar.  Glass jars are nice but more dangerous. Fill up the jar/bottle with beans or lentils.  Seal the lid with tape or hot glue and you have a conversation piece for hours.

Build in language as you play by asking, “What can you see in the bottle?”.   If you get a finger point or a one word answer, repeat back to the child, “Oh, you found the purple ring.  Great job! I see a white bread clip under the pencil”  Model the full sentence responses and encourage your little one to use more words each time.
