    As play becomes the hot button topic in our early learning conversations, I still find myself struggling to explain how play fits into a school day.  Old thought patterns about play persist: it’s a filler activity or we’ll play when the work is done.  The toughest one is the connection between play and learning.  This article from the National Association for the Education of Young Children gets the conversation started about how play is not as simple as we might have thought.
