    Please be advised that the Duncan Cran and Robert Ogilvie Preschools will be closed on Friday May 1 to allow Lana and Pam to attend the annual ECEBC (Early Childhood Educators of BC) conference in Vancouver.

  • Families in Motion – Alwin Holland School

    SD60 Early Learning will be hosting a Families in Motion event in the Alwin Holland School gym, 10615 96 Street, tonight from 6:00 – 7:30pm.  Families in Motion is a free event that welcomes families with children ages 6 and under to have fun and get physically active.

  • Parenting Series – Sleep & Anxiety Workshop

    Come and spend time with Julie Miller, MSW – Family Sleep Consultant, this Saturday April 11 from 9:30am- 2:30pm @ CCRR, 10411 100 Ave – use the side door entrance.  Julie believes in supporting families to choose what is the right process for them.

    Tip of the Month for April Independence – When children are verbally capable of expressing many thoughts, feelings and needs, they are ready to take bigger steps towards independence.  These monthly tips are aimed at helping families enrich the preschool lives of their children,


  • Mrs Oakley shared a fun activity for Groundhog Day!! We read a book about a little dog and his shadow. I then used a projector and placed misc items on it to see if the children could guess who’s shadow?

  • Our First Bulletin Board

    Recently our preschool class was offered a bulletin board in the school hallway!  The children and myself took a walk through the school halls to look at bulletin boards, explaining that all the classes hung up their work for everyone to see what they were working on.

  • NPSS students ECE field trip – Dec 4

    NPSS students visited Duncan Cran StrongStart, Child Care Resource & Referral (CCRR) and Northern Lights Daycare on Thursday December 4.  It was a full, fun and fabulous day.
