• January FSJ Library programs

    Getting ready for January already.  In addition to these regular activities, keep an eye out for Literacy Month activities at the library.  Fun things are happening all through the month January.

    This program is aimed at 6 –

  • Free Family Literacy Program

    The FSJ Literacy Society offer a free family literacy program for parents with children 0-6.  The fall program has many openings this fall.  It is a great program; parents study whatever they choose: high-school courses;

  • New StrongStart schedules

    Following feedback from parents, we have been able to juggle our staffing to improve our StrongStart hours.  Both Duncan Cran StrongStart and Robert Ogilvie StrongStart are now open every morning, Monday – Friday, from 8:30 –

  • March Early Learning calendars

    March is coming in like a lamb. I hope the beautiful weather gets lots of families out of the house.  Winter can feel so long here.  But there are many wonderful people at StrongStart and the Rotary Play Centre waiting to cheer you.  The easiest way to get through the winter season with small kids is get outside.  The 2nd best way is to come to our play based,

    February can be a challenging month for young families in our community.  I start to feel the weight of winter sitting on my shoulders during this month.  We have Family Day to look forward to this year,

    The 6th parent conference is Saturday, March 9th at North Peace Secondary School.  There are a few interesting twists this year.

    The amazing Morgan, has invited another round of stuffies to sleep over at the FSJ Library next Friday.  This year the host is Scaredy Squirrel and it promises to be lots of fun.  But knowing Scaredy Squirrel,

    These activities are for kids aged 6 – 12. It’s older than my target group but it’s such a series of events that I had to spread the word.  Anything that brings art and self-expression into our lives is worth pursuing.
