ELMO is coming to visit


The Encana Event Centre is presenting Elmo’s Healthy Heroes, July 27th.    As part of that exciting event, Elmo is visiting communities in our area highlighting the importance of a healthy lifestyle and encouraging kids to come see the show.  He will be visiting the play centres around the city on May 30th.  See the attached poster for more details.

Daddy & Me Strong Start Gym Night

This Wednesday is StrongStart Gym Night for Dads.   Hope to see you there.  This event is intended for children aged  0 – 6 years with their male caregiver.  This can mean dads, grandpas, uncles, big brothers .

Physical Literacy ????

We have all heard about the importance of literacy skills, numeracy skills, social skills.  All these skills we share with our children to help them become successful, healthy little humans.  It’s a lot of pressure, no?  But all of these amazing thinking skills are only improved by an exposure to physical exercise.  This does not mean pushing our kids into sports earlier and earlier.  It means getting them active and excited about movement and fitness.  Physical literacy is building in a love of exercise with developmentally appropriate activities.
